Extreme Book Dragon Reading Challenge 2024
Rules and Details
- The Extreme Book Dragon Challenge runs from January 1 – December 14, 2024.
- Logs must be turned in by December 14, 2024.
- To sign up: log-in to your account and click on the “Clubs” tab, then click “Enroll” next to Book Dragon 2024 and fill out the form OR ask a librarian to sign you up at checkout.
- This challenge is for independent readers ONLY.
- A reading log is required to redeem prizes; alternate tracking is also acceptable (Goodreads, tracking app, spreadsheet, etc…).
- Participants may redeem a prize by showing a librarian their reading log for every 25 books read.
- Each book may only be counted once per challenge year. However, books used for other challenges (ie- Summer Reading) may be counted towards the Extreme Book Dragon.
- Books must be age appropriate. No books intended for small children, pre-readers or easy read books allowed. Adults and teens should read Junior or higher level books, typically 100-pages or more. Younger independent readers may include chapter books under 100-pages.
- Audiobooks are acceptable.
- No more than 25 graphic novels can be used in the challenge.
- To achieve Book Dragon status, a minimum of 40 books you read should come from the Book Dragon categories list. The remaining books can be done “My Way”.
- Book Worm and Book Nerd can be achieved without using the Book Dragon categories list if you prefer the My Way reading challenge.
- Once prizes are available, they will be awarded upon completion.
- The kick-off party for the 2025 Extreme Book Dragon Challenge will be at the Ammon Branch on January 4, 2025 at 6pm.
