Iona Days & The Iona Library

Friends of the Iona Library (FOIL) had a fantastic train representing the library at Iona Days this past weekend. Can you spot your favorite book character? Do you have questions about the Iona Library? We have good news!
The Bonneville County Library District (BCLD) is excited to partner with Iona City to provide library services at the Iona Library beginning October 1, 2022. The Iona Library will remain a wonderful community resource and Friends of the Iona Library (FOIL) will continue to be a key volunteer group enriching the Iona library with programs and book sales.
BCLD will be providing full library services in Iona, including:
• Electronic resources such as Libby and Overdrive
• Connected branches *Ammon*Iona*Swan Valley*Westside
• Courier services so materials maybe checked out or returned at any branch
• Enriching programs such as story time, STEM activities, and mini classes
• Reading Challenges such as Extreme Book Nerd
• Computer labs and meeting rooms
All Iona City and Bonneville County residents are eligible for a library card at no additional fee beginning in September. As always, we love donations! Please contact us if you have books/materials to donate.
 

Three Volunteer Opportunities This Week

We have 3 big ASKS for Volunteers this week for the Ammon library located at 3025 S. 25th E. next to Bed Bath and Beyond in the old Lane Bryant Building east of Chick-Fil-A. Please come and help us out!

1. Monday at 4:00 p.m: help sweep, mop, clear out Ammon floor for carpet tiles (please bring brooms and mops if possible).

2. Tuesday 9:00 a.m. unload boxes of carpet tiles.

3. Wednesday 9:00 a.m. learn how to do basic cataloging, sort books and apply stickers, barcodes and coverings.

We Are Ready to Start Hiring!

Are you interested in working at the Bonneville County Libraries?

We are looking for library clerks and assistants that are warm, helpful, friendly, efficient, industrious, and caring. They must be willing to give their best efforts to help patrons and their library team. Library experience is valued, but not required. Expected duties include learning and using Koha library software, typing efficiently, cataloging items, repairing books, checking in and out items, creating displays, shelving books, being resourceful, greeting and helping patrons, bending up and down to restock shelves, and honoring all library policies and procedures.

Locations include Ammon, Iona, Swan Valley, and the west side of Idaho Falls. Please indicate if you have a preferred branch or branches and if you would be willing to be flexible about which branch or branches you serve.  Branch Managers will be selected from the applicants. Pay will be $8-15 based on responsibilities and experience. Expected start times will vary.
